Well I ordered the front axles from Phoenix Axle last week. I did some work on the steering column and shifter today. A word the the wise, do not weld any of the shifter tube parts together until you test fit. I forgot I increased the tunnel height a little and it messed with the shifter height. I will take a few parts to the machine shop tomorrow to have machined to size. Then I can finish assembling the column.

Wow! Really nice looking work there. Very clean! Can you post another pic or two of the steering column and how it mates up to the pivot arm? Bravo for finding a modern part that fits (and likely much cheaper than $300+)

The steering column itself had to be cut down to size there is a 1/8 plate I welded the column tube to and a 3/8 aluminum spacer I drew up the parts and had Maezee cut them then bought a bearing that fit around the column shaft and pressed into the aluminum spacer. It took some time to figure out all the measurements, but what on this car does not take time . I will try and get some more pics.

I have not done much this winter I am looking forward to getting back at it soon. I have too many projects!!. This winter I bought a Prius and converted it to a plug-in and have pushed the milage up to 76mpg hoping to get it to at least 80 . But that is for another forum.

I was wondering how much the materials cost to date for what you have constructed. You're doing a great job.

Well I am finaly geting back at it. I did some foam work this weekend and I ordered my fiberglass cloth and mat from Fiberglasssite. I picked up 5 gal of resin from a local supplier. I will get a new pick up this weekend. I am planning on taking Wed off next week, so I plan on fiberglassing the floor.
